As part of the Emirates Festival of Literature, seven Year 5 and 6 children competed in the first round of the Readers’ Cup at GEMS World Academy. In preparation for the big day, each team member was given copies of the four books assigned for the competition which they read carefully before being quizzed.

“We sat down and noticed there were tests for the four different books. We had to pick a team name and the Year 5 team chose The Purple Dragons. Together, we answered all the questions and checked each paper carefully. We are looking forward to finding out if we are one of the sixteen teams to make it through to the next round!”
